This is one of the primary mother monasteries of the Nyingma tradition. It features a large courtyard and elaborate frescoes. Take your time admiring the intricate murals detailing Tibetan Buddhist history. You will find it in a quieter alley behind the stupa.

This prominent monastery sits directly across from the stupa. Inside, it houses large statues of Guru Rinpoche. Head up to the second-floor balcony for an elevated view of the stupa courtyard.

Kopan Monastery rests on a hill just north of Boudhanath. It is known globally for its international Buddhist meditation courses and extensive teachings. Take a short taxi ride to Kopan for panoramic valley views and serene gardens.
